This blog is a commonplace book, notebook, and written jam session.

The title is a dual homage – “Catatan Pinggir” roughly translates into “Sidelines,” a column in Indonesia’s Majalah Tempo (later compiled into a book) by founding editor, poet, and essayist Goenawan Mohamad, while “Sessions” is a nod to my background as a (lapsed) saxophonist.
